Description

OUR DESCRIPTION A Lovely and Scarce Antique Bohemian/Czech Multi Faceted Canary Yellow FLOWERING BOUQUET Art Glass Paperweight. The Motif is Three Canary Yellow Flowers Coming from a Brown/Orange/Yellow Chip Pot, Flat Top Facet and Allover interlocking Faceting. There are few tiny nicks to the edges of some facets and a few areas appear to not have been completely polished see, Black arrow in the last picture for location and more detail. Some of the faceting on the sides are different size and I believe they should have all been symmetrical and this caused the wight to appear lopsided and sitting more to one side then the other. I am guessing this might be pre 1900 and for it's age it has held up very nicely. This is a magnum size paperweight and it measures 3" in diameter by 3-1/4” tall. It has a Clear Flat bottom that has light shelf wear. I consider this Scarce and Wonderful work of art glass to be in Very Good Original Antique Condition. Please check pictures for further description. I will Consider any Reasonable Offers on this Wonderful Antique Art Glass Paperweight and Thank You for Looking. Please do not miss my many other lovely Art Glass Paperweight Auctions by various Well Known and Famous Artists. Short History of: Bohemian Paperweights It’s sometimes said that the first glass makers of paperweights were from Bohemia. I am sure if they were not the first Art Glass Paperweight makers, they were certainly the second ones to Venice Glass Makers. Glass Maker History back in the early to mid-1800’s was a bit sketchy, but it’s widely believed that Bohemian weights were made from 1840’s to present. They made many different types of weights and most antique ones were unsigned and simply attributed to Bohemian Glass Makers. Bohemian weights also encompassed a wide geographic area of Europe, that might have covered Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Slovakia areas by today's map.
