ESTATE FIND! Antique 1800s Hinged Bangle Gemstone Bracelet Opal Amethyst Faux Pearl Enamel Metal Paint Well Loved & Worn Oh my! I'm not a jewelry person but I love this hinged bangle gemstone bracelet. The minute I saw it it took me back to a day when life could be so hard for women. I wondered who would have given such a beautiful gift. Was it for an engagement? A loving father to his daughter? A family heirloom. I would love to know it's story but by the wear on it, it's obvious it was loved, treasured and worn constantly. I'm not an expert in gemstones but I believe we have two large opals and three amethysts each separated by three faux pearls. The band and filigree seem to be enamel but they could be a heavy paint. It's my opinion that this dates to the 1800's. The hinge and clasp hold tight. Please note the character of the patina and wear on the band. It is circular shaped with the interior diameter measuring approximately 1/8". I sincerely hope the new owner loves this bracelet as much as the previous owner!
