Description

A wonderful Antique Saint-Louis Faceted 4-Flower Posy With a Blue and White Garland On Clear Paperweight. There are four flowers in this bouquet...white, blue, red and yellow. 5-leaves on a green stem with 27 facets in 4 rows - 8 larger facets on the bottom row, 12 smaller on the next row up and 6 small on the row next to the top center facet. In other words, there's a LOT going on in this paperweight. The garland is made up of alternating blue/white and white canes. I wondered if the faceting was done on a larger piece to repair damage during a restoration, but just last night while looking through old Sotheby's Auction catalogs I found the same faceting on an antique St. Louis Faceted Posy in a 3" size without the garland pictured in one from 1999. Weighs 1 lb 2 oz and is approximately 3.2" W X 2.1" H It's in good condition....has no cracks, flea-bites, bruises but does have a few scratches between facets and a few small chips/nibbles to edge of some larger facets. Please refer to 4 enlarged photos at end for examples. Not really a display issue due to size/placement and all the facets/posy demanding attention.
