Description
Antique glass paperweight with a small articulated turtle on the bottom. Clear glass material with a ribbed and half bubble pattern around the outside. The turtle was pressed into the hollow on the bottom. A cardboard paper is adhered to the very bottom. The outside of the paper is black. Sticker on the bottom identifies it as Gillinder. I am not sure what the number 622 means. Measures approximately 3 1/4" in diameter and 1 3/4" in height. Condition: The dome of the paperweight is cloudy. Some brownish areas in the glass and scratches in the glass. I cannot tell if all the appendages are affixed to the turtle or 'swimming' loose in the bottom. Please see all pictures for condition. Google Arts and Culture has a small mention on the history of these paperweights.
