The Capercaille is a Grouse common across Western Europe. The turn of the century (1880s-1930s) Czech Bohemian glassmakers were well known for their encased 3-D sulphide paperweights. This one is attributed to "Probably Bohemia c. 1910-1930" Upright 3-D sulphide of a Capercaille (Grouse) with fanned tail standing on a White disc that rests on a Green cushion. Yellow festooning around the top of the cushion. Interlocking facets leading to a point on top. One nick to the edge of a facet, and wear and scratches to the flat base.
